rollin'

Time to leave the Hermitage. I will have a short visit with my Great Uncle Gordon and Aunt Rose Marie in Seminole FL and then back to the snowy land of Milwaukee. Time to be with family and celebrate the end of another generous year. Looking forward to OBAMA's inauguration on the 20th!!!!

knocking on doors for OBAMA

Yesterday was my first time out canvasing. It was an incredible experience. My friend organized a neighborhood canvasing group and an Obama employee came by to give a short a talk, essentially door knocking 101. I was very nervous at the start but it was an incredibly empowering experience. Knocking on complete strangers doors and talking to them one on one about the election and my candidate. How often do I actually engage with complete strangers? Never really. As I was walking the 12 block loop I found myself awakened to the power of Obama's campaign and the mobilizing of the many. It was great to step out of my routine and enter the world of my Milwaukee neighbors. We do live so insularly and there fear and hate can easily breed. It was the best 2 hours I have spent in awhile, even with the few disgruntled people and occasional McCain supporter. I encourage everyone to knock a few doors and reconnect.

Scout Tufankjian

Thanks to 2point8 for pointing me to Scout Tufankjian 's stunning images of the Obamacampaign. Her images are front row tickets to his long journey thus far. I watched the slide show a few times!

"America, this is our moment..."

Tuesday June 3 was a good day.

If you haven't watched the speech yet, do it now.

Visit Obama's website and check out the Artists for Obama. I imagine there will be more artists added as we work towards November.

Obama turned my world upside down

I am plugged in. I am listening. I am inspired. It feels good to be engaged and to believe in change.

Wisconsin votes on the 19th of February and I look forward to participating.
