the summer shows have begun...

Just installed two pieces at Gallery 224 in Port Washington, WI for their group show WATER. Jane Suddendorf a teacher at Port Washington High School and currently the curator of a small gallery in Port Washington asked if I would be a featured artist in her upcoming exhibition. The mission of this regional gallery is to provide a space where emerging artists and art students can show their work alongside established artists.  I am pleased to be exhibiting along side with some of my students, now MIAD alumni! The opening of the exhibition is this Friday May 18, 5-7pm.

These are some shots of the show prior to the installation of the juried work.  It was an engaging opportunity for me to utilize the space. I have been interested in seeing the image from figure.ground at an almost life size scale and the windows at Gallery 224 provided a natural light box in which to try this.
The figure is created by peeling and sanding the emulsion off.
