Flak Photo presents RSF 09

It was grateful to be included in this summer's feature on Flak Photo - RSF 09

Today, Flak featured the image of my grandparents last harvest of raspberries prior to there moving out of their house of 40 years.
This image is part of the larger installation of 75 photographs and reproductions titled lacuna.

Lacuna, an unfilled space or interval...in knowledge, literature or in bone. As the word lacuna references both intellectual and physical gaps, the installation titled lacuna is a metaphor for memory and aging.

Read a review of the recent installation in Milwaukee here.

leaving on a jet plane

for Houston...

Cain and I are so excited to see our good friend Rachel Hewlett and attend the opening at HCP tomorrow night. Katherine Ware will be speaking at 5:30pm with reception to follow until 8pm.

I just had the pleasure of meeting Beatrix Reinhardt at Review Santa Fe. We stood back to back during the long 3 hour open portfolio review. Her Club series is clever and beautiful! I am pleased to be in this show with her!

Brad Moore, another RSF 09 alum, is showing 3 images from his Familiar series the exhibition. His photographs of groomed Californian landscapes are suspended in time constructed with a minimalist eye.

Jason Reblando and I connected the moment we met in Milwaukee while he was showing in the CoPA juried show in 2007. Jason is such a compassionate person and it fills his work. I look forward to seeing some of these new images from 17 stories. Davina is one of my favorites.

I will be showing 3 images from my crude series...

hope to see friendly faces there!

Last Chance!

I’m glad my parents were always there to guide me
and help me think of the choices I was making.
I like to join a lot of activities, but once something
goes wrong, my first thought is to quit. When I tell
my parents what happened, they always push me to give
it another try and not quit. Without that extra push I
wouldn’t have been able to do many things, like play
basketball, volleyball, swim, or even play the piano.
